Usage Instructions:

Prepare Ingredients:
- 1½ kg chicken pieces
- Oil for frying
- 2 medium onions chopped
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- 2 teaspoons crushed ginger
- 1 green pepper seeded and chopped
- 1-2 green chillies seeded and chopped
- 3-4 medium tomatoes skinned and grated
- 500ml chicken stock
- 1½ cups lentils
- 1 teaspoon lemon rind
- 1½ cups of Basmati or long grain rice

Cooking Method:
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat and add contents of (pouch 1 - seeds) and stir until spices become fragrant.
- Add onions, garlic, ginger, lemon rind, chillies, green pepper and contents of (pouch 2) and continue stirring until onions are translucent to golden brown.
- Add the chicken together with contents of (pouch 3) and cook chicken until golden brown. Take care not to burn the spice. Add water if pot becomes too dry.
- Stir in the tomatoes and simmer on low heat adding contents of (pouch 4) bit by bit until desired taste (strength) is obtained.
- Prepare rice until half done with contents of (pouch 5) and rinse thoroughly and place aside.
- Wash lentils and boil until cooked but firm, rinse thoroughly, mix the rice and lentils.
- Remove half of the ingredients from the curry pot, mix half the rice and lentil mix into the pot and stir, repeat this process with the balance of the rice and lentils and remaining curry.
- Pour in chicken stock and mix slightly and simmer further until rice and lentils are cooked (not mushy).
- Serve garnished with crispy salad, chutney, sliced bananas or a dollop of sour cream or Greek yogurt mixed with finely chopped coriander leaves and a squirt of lemon.
Storage Instructions:
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
